Again…I need to come eat at your house.

  • I love going to big markets. I’m like a kid in a candy store.

The hummus looks divine too, btw!

  • Great blog. You write divinely. I was looking for info on your background to see how a Wichita foodie was so sophisticated. Didn’t see it, but… you definitely put together an interesting blog. Well done!

  • i love a good hoummous just as a dip for crackers or whacked (a real generous amount of it) in a sandwich or salad wrap. this spicy one is sure making me hungry!! x

  • Fabulous post and thanks so much for taking the photos and sharing. I can’t believe that KC Farmers Market – I’m so jealous. What a treat. Hopefully you’ll be able to get back there a more times this season. We have nothing like that here in Denver.

  • I love hummus with pita chips, carrots, crackers, just about anything!

    Krista: Anytime!

Laura: The east coast has some really wonderful markets, you are lucky! And I bet they sell the *best* seafood. Kansas is ocean-deficient, so seafood is usually thawed from frozen.

Marti: I commented to my husband that you could probably take a look at my ‘about’ page to find out a bit more about me. He said “you have an ‘about’ page?” So I figured maybe I had better make the menu font a tad bigger so people might actually see it. It’s up at the top of the page. ๐Ÿ˜€

Diva: I agree, Hummus works just about anywhere. Maybe not on cake….but still. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lea Ann: Maybe you need to take a road trip. Meet you in Kansas City? ๐Ÿ˜€

    Cookie: Me too!

this looks wonderful, I’ll have to try it this weekend, thanks!

  • I love your blog and this is a great post. I love Hummus!

When I was in Jordan last year, my guide explained to me that they often add Sumac to Hummus because the spice helps to balance the gas the the beans in Hummus produce.

I didn’t know that! Thanks for sharing the information. Now sumac is almost a necessity, especially if you are going to serve it to a big group of people ๐Ÿ˜‰ – Karen

  • I love garnishing hummus with sumac at the end. First, for its color and for a subtle acidic flavor whereas somked paprika can have an unpleasant taste even though the color is nice too
